Students pay their respects
Published 11/11/22A ceremony was held at the school at the 11th hour and 'The last Post' was played by Ben from Year 10 on an original bugle from 1914 that had been donated by Mark Sayer, an old Bordenian a few weeks earlier. The service was recorded and will be published shortly so that all of our community can see it.
Afterwards our students made their way to the war memorial in Sittingbourne, paid their respects and laid a wreath. We are grateful to the British Legion for allowing us to have the above photograph taken with them.

The final total is in!
Published 20/10/22During the week beginning Monday 26 September 2022, both Year 10 and Year 11 tutor groups held cake sales everyday raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support as part of their Coffee Morning fundraiser. Macmillan do whatever they can to help everyone with cancer live life as fully as they can by helping people directly, giving the right support at the right time, with practical information and support about money, family and work.
Mrs Carter started running these in memory of Mr Vafeas, a previous headteacher at Borden Grammar. This year was also in memory of Mr Jenkins, a former pupil and previous Head of Science. The final total is in and just over £330 was raised for this most worthy cause.

Year 13 Geography field trip
Published 03/10/22On Friday 23rd September, Year 13 Geography students finally got to complete their much anticipated coastal field trip to Herne Bay. The trip, delayed from July when the weather was too hot to go to the beach (not Mr. Williams' decision!) took place during what can only be described as torrential and constant heavy rain! Despite the conditions, the students were able to undertake a range of fieldwork activities in preparation for their individual studies. The ability to make notes was somewhat hampered by having to write on paper mache, however the experience will hopefully prepare them for some high quality fieldwork in the coming months.
